My new job

Well, if you haven't already heard, I just got a new job. I'll still be teaching Adults English but now I'll be teaching for Rio Salado College. It is my first full time job. I used to think I couldn't handle a full time job but this year I was working full time hours and just not getting paid for all my work. I figured it out and I was working at least 45 hours a week for what was suppose to be a 20 hour a week job and 15 hours of other teaching. So, after my boss told me my job was being changed to hourly and no benefits, I finally had enough and decided to find something else.

So, now I'll be teaching full time for Rio Salado. The pay is decent (for a teacher that is) and the benefits seem really good. Also, one nice perk is that if I or any of my dependent children (sorry Kim) want to go to any of Maricopas community colleges it will be free. So even Amy could take a dance class or something and Cassie could get an associates degree. I just wish I could let Kim use it.

So, that's the good news. The things I'll have to get used to is working year round (I start June 2nd) with just normal holidays (no summers off or Spring break). Also, Christmas will be one week instead of two.
But on the good side, I will be working M-Thursday with Fri, Sat, and Sun off. So every week I'll have a 3 day week end. Maybe I could visit Melanie in Chicago after the baby is born by flying after work on Thursday night, and staying until Sunday? So, we'll see what happens.

I will have long days though with Mon and Wed 8 am to 8 pm and Tues, Thurs 8 am to 5 pm. I will also have to commute because I'll be teaching on 12th st. and a little north of I-10. (at the Ann Ott Learning Center). Maybe down the road I can transfer to the Mesa location.

So, that's my new job. I'll let you know after I get started how it is.

Melanie, that means Amy will have to pick you up from the Airport and I'll have to spend Friday and Saturday visiting you. Well, let me know more about the trip. Like, are you staying here or with Josh's family? And what time is your flight? Well, I'll see you soon. Mom

Yay!!! CONGRATS on the new job!!! hope you'll like it ok, that the commute won't be horrendous. But it sounds good, esp. with the free tuition perk! My flight doesn't get in until 9:30pm on the 4th. I was planning on staying with you guys. Does that work??
