It's Friday the 13th

Well, I was talking to my friend Linda today and I realized that it's Friday the 13th. It's also 13 years exactly since Brent was arrested and our lives changed forever. I can't believe it's been 13 years. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday and other times it seems like forever ago. I used to dread this day and now it just sneaks up on me so I guess that's progress.

Well, I finished my second week at my new job and things seem to be going well. I still have a lot of things to put away, and organizing to do but I am really enjoying teaching my classes. My students are really great. I am teaching people from a more diverse background. I have two students from Vietnam and four from Somalia. That has been very interesting.

Now I just need to learn how to do the things I need to on the computer. I still have a lot to learn about the computer unfortunatly and at this job most communication is done via the computer. It will be easier now that I have a computer in my room.

I went to the thrift store with my friend Linda today and bought some shelves and things to help me organize my classroom. That should help as well.

Melanie returned to Chicago and Cassie went to girls camp so the house seems really quiet. Little "Pretty" (the cat) kept jumping on my bed and sticking her face and paws in my face. I think she misses Cassie. She returns tomorrow so I will be happy to have her home.

Oh by the way, Kim, if you read this I have some money for you (for your prize movie tickets) and let me know when you would like me to get tickets for "Wicked" cuz I have to order them this weekend. The tickets are for next summer (2009) and these are the dates we have to choose from; 7/1, 7/2, 7/8, 7/9, 7/15, and 7/16. These dates are all Wed. and Thursdays. I need to go on a Thursday becuase of my work schedule. So let me know so I can order them right away. (It would be fun to go on your birthday!) Well, Talk to you later.
